Did you know that God wants you to be safe, protected, healthy, and well?
The Bible records Christ Jesus as saying he was doing the “will of the Father which hath sent me” (John 5:30), and he healed countless individuals, even raising some from the dead. In one instance, when a leprous man sought healing from him, the Bible relates that “Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed” (Matthew 8:3). Jesus’ tender contact with the man showed him that he was precious and worthy of being healed, and that this was God’s will.
Mary Baker Eddy, referring to Jesus’ raising of Lazarus from the dead, poses a question for all to consider: “Who dares to doubt this consummate test of the power and willingness of divine Mind to hold man forever intact in his perfect state, and to govern man’s entire action?” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, pp. 493–494). Can there be any doubt that God wants us to be well? If that were not the case, then Christ Jesus, God’s Son, wouldn’t have been able to heal. An enlightened understanding of God’s willingness to keep man “in his perfect state” can bring extraordinary results.
