What does it mean to express unfathomable Mind, God? It means thought is unconfined, illimitable, unbounded, and ever expanding. This immeasurable Mind is infinitely vast, without beginning or ending.
Mary Baker Eddy, the Founder of Christian Science, writes: “Here let us remember that God is not the Alpha and Omega of man and the universe; He is supreme, infinite, the great forever, the eternal Mind that hath no beginning and no end, no Alpha and no Omega” (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 267). Without beginning and without end, Mind is continuously unfolding its idea, man, freshly and spontaneously. This forever divine Mind fills all space, and yet is ever expansive. It is unceasingly active.
It is therefore divinely natural that man, God’s idea, reflects this Mind in the same liberated way—unconfined, unconstrained, unrestricted. Man reflects the vastness and immeasurableness of divine Mind, because man is the spontaneous thought of God. The forever divine Mind is expressed in unceasing action, or creation. This expression, which is seen in man, God’s creation, is unencumbered by material belief and its manifestation. Rather, man is unlimited in his expression of God, good, and this includes spiritual inspiration and spontaneity. It’s only natural that these qualities emanate from divine Mind to His idea, man, as they are qualities of Mind, Soul, Spirit. So, unfathomable Mind, God, the very source of man’s thought, inspiration, and spontaneity, is also the source of man’s individuality.
