Guarding our riches

From the March 2024 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Having wealth means security to many people. But as the Bible points out, “Riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away” (Proverbs 23:5).

Can we guard our riches so they don’t fly away? Yes! But first we must understand what they really are.

Christ Jesus taught that permanent riches are not material things. He said, “Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” (Matthew 6:20).
