I’m so grateful for a healing I had of an internal disorder. Something seemed out of place and uncomfortable in my pelvic area. However, I knew that as God’s image and likeness I was whole and perfect, and that matter could not dictate my health or well-being, which are spiritual. God, Spirit, alone is the source of my health and harmony.
I emailed a Christian Science practitioner to support my prayers. One quote he shared was from Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896 by Mary Baker Eddy: “In Science, body is the servant of Mind, not its master: Mind is supreme. Science reverses the evidence of material sense with the spiritual sense that God, Spirit, is the only substance; and that man, His image and likeness, is spiritual, not material. This great Truth does not destroy but substantiates man’s identity,—together with his immortality and preexistence, or his spiritual coexistence with his Maker” (p. 47).
I was also struggling to let go of a few things that were keeping me stuck on matter, such as a dependency on having caffeinated drinks every day. I had been hanging on to the belief that caffeine could provide comfort and strength. But I knew this was just a symptom of a deeper issue that needed healing, and I wanted to get to the root of the problem.
