Completeness after heartbreak

From the September 2024 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Ah, love. Isn’t it wonderful to be in the presence of someone who sees you as delightful, smart, talented! Who really sees and loves you. And you really see and love them.

But sometimes relationships end and you need to move forward without your sweetheart or best friend. You might be wondering if you’ll ever be happy again. You may even feel that a piece of you is missing, or that you’re not sure who you are without this person. It can be tough.

There’s a sentence I love in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. It relates to the question of completeness, and it has helped me deal with loss. It includes this phrase: “numbers which never blend with each other.”
