I am currently a business manager, and during my career, I am grateful to say I have hired many more people than I have dismissed. The process of dismissing an employee is not very pleasant for anyone.
At one point, my company had to lay off some staff. On the day that I had to let one of our employees go, my heart was not at peace. The employee was extremely surprised to be dismissed. Afterward, I learned from some colleagues that this employee and his wife were going to have a baby.
I thought, “What have I done? Why did we let him go right now?” I became very worried and anguished about the situation and so I found it helpful to talk with a Christian Science practitioner.
