In the August 1994 issue of the Journal, an editorial, titled "The Christian Science Journal : 'to put on record the divine Science of Truth,'" invited readers and contributors to join us in "the ongoing task of understanding more clearly— and thus fulfilling more effectively—the distinct mission Mary Baker Eddy intended for each of the Christian Science periodicals .
•A minor correction has been made to the IBM version of Concord, and all programs shipped after January 1994 have been automatically upgraded. IBM owners prior to January 1994 will only benefit from this upgrade if: —the hymns play too fast, or —you are upgrading to DOS version 4 or higher, or — you are buying a new PC.

Special issue commemorates life of Jesus To illustrate our Church's design to keep alive the Word and works of our Master, the September Journal provided a collection of articles exploring a number of aspects of the life, teaching, and healing ministry of Christ Jesus, and their significance today. Because of its ongoing value to Christian Scientists in reaching out to explain their Church to others, the September issue of The Christian Science Journal will continue to be available for sale after its publication date for as long as inventory remains.
How do we know when it's right to share Science and Health? A recent letter described one member's approach. He told us, "For me, setting the stage for sharing requires most of all having the humble willingness and readiness to share (even if it means just being willing to be seen in public with Science and Health! ), along.
On July 20, The Christian Science Board of Directors announced the election of a new Editor of The Christian Science Monitor who would also oversee the Monitor's radio news broadcasts. It is the first time that both the paper and the Monitor's radio activities will report to the same Editor.
"Will you sign my application for membership?" Does your heart leap at the opportunity to help someone apply for membership in The Mother Church? In the Manual of The Mother Church , Mary Baker Eddy gives every member this privilege: "Only members of The Mother Church are qualified to approve for membership individuals who are known to them to be Christians, and faithful, loyal students of the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (Art. Special Thanksgiving Full Text Quarterly This year, the Thanksgiving Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly is again being made available in a stand-alone full text booklet format. Because of the overwhelming response received after last year's issue, plans for the Thanksgiving Full Text booklet were put in motion earlier, and as a result, the booklet will be available in time for the Canadian observance of Thanksgiving in October as well as for individual study throughout September, October, and November.
As part of the churchwide renewed commitment to Science and Health, the Office of the Publisher of the Writings of Mary Baker Eddy has been offering each new member of The Mother Church a free copy of the book for sharing. As "payment," new members are asked to let us know their experiences, and in turn we want to share some of these with Journal readers.
