An ancient custom of the Israelites vested in the first-born son the birthright, which entitled him to special privileges of succession and possession. A story telling how this custom was once thwarted is related in the twenty-fifth chapter of Genesis.

Often in our human experience discordant mortal suggestions regarding our health, affairs, and relationships come flooding into our consciousness, threatening to overwhelm us with a sense of hopelessness and defeat. But as we turn in thought to the omnipresence of Spirit, God, as revealed in Christian Science, we find a standard by which we can gauge the validity of the beliefs assailing us, the standard of perfect God and His expression, perfect man.
