Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

"THE IMAGE OF THE HEAVENLY"

HEAVENLY joy, heavenly peace, heavenly harmony—how greatly does the human heart yearn to be aware of the ever-presence, the ever-nearness, of these glorious qualities and conditions! Human life seems so beset by disappointments, so filled with sorrow and trials, that to thought as yet untouched by spiritual illumination the divine fact that heaven in all its radiant perfection is present here and now seems to be incredible and beyond understanding. Nevertheless, however unattainable it may seem, and however little acknowledged, all have the desire for the perfect harmony which is heaven.

"YE SHALL BE WITNESSES UNTO ME"

THE great transformation which Christianity early effected had its inception deep and unseen in the hearts of Jesus' disciples and early followers. They had become convinced of the reality of God's creation and of the infallibility of divine law.

DEMONSTRATING SPIRITUAL TRUTH

A MOST important fact is that the teachings of Christian Science are demonstrable, provable. Based as they are on the truth revealed by Christ Jesus, these teachings bear testimony to the promise he set forth, namely, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also," and substantiate his injunction "to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

TWO COMMANDMENTS

TO the earnest student of Christian Science, especially to one who has long been in bondage to some error, comes the realization that the solution of all problems is to be found in the simple truth of the statements made by Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p. 225 ), "Love is the liberator;" and ( p.

SPIRITUAL REGENERATION

IN studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, it is interesting to note the insistent teaching that error must be relinquished and the spiritual facts of being accepted. On page 400 it is written, "Mortals obtain the harmony of health, only as they forsake discord, acknowledge the supremacy of divine Mind, and abandon their material beliefs.

CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE is the Science of divine, immaculate, eternal being. It is the Science of the creator and His creation.

THE REALM INDESTRUCTIBLE

BE ye holy; for I am holy," is the command of God recorded by Moses and authoritatively reiterated by the Apostle Peter. This divine edict is God's direct statement to man of the glorious fact of his being, related in the first chapter of Genesis, that man is the image and likeness of God.

TRUE SYMPATHY

THERE is a biographical sketch of King Solomon in the third chapter of I Kings which portrays with masterly touches the relationship between Solomon's reign and certain qualities of thought which he expressed. "And Solomon loved the Lord," the story begins.

THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE teaches that sin punishes itself, and that belief in punishment ceases when the belief in sin is destroyed. And it also teaches that sin which has been acknowledged, repented of, and forsaken, has no longer power over one.

OUT OF SELF

IN "Miscellaneous Writings" ( p. 238 ) Mary Baker Eddy has written: "Let one's life answer well these questions, and it already hath a benediction: Have you renounced self? Are you faithful? Do you love?" One whose incentive in living is the expression of unselfed love can answer aright such queries and experience the satisfaction that comes from a career purified of erroneous self-interest.
