All through the Bible are accounts of people who heard and responded to the Christ, Truth, the voice of God. Deliverance from sickness, slavery, famine, and death came to those who, in varying degrees, understood God and trusted His wisdom, power, and love.

It is of interest to see what is known about the famous Rabbi Gamaliel, one who we may be sure would have a strong influence upon his ardent young pupil, Saul of Tarsus. Gamaliel was a Pharisee of notably broad sympathies, honored among the Jews as Rabban, a distinguished title for a doctor of the Law.

A branch Church of Christ, Scientist, grows in the measure that it demonstrates the spiritual idea of Church. This demonstration includes realizing the power and all-inclusiveness of the divine idea, Church, practicing the qualities of God expressive of the idea, and sharing divine Science, the promised Comforter, in a meaningful and healing way with the community.

When I was a child, my grandfather was very much disturbed over the theory of evolution, which was sweeping the country and causing much dissension. Many people were saying it did not matter where they came from but that it did matter where they were going.

Seeing the unreality of evil can bring release from the material beliefs of sin, sickness, and death. Evil of any kind never existed in God's perfect creation.

When in my early teens I first came across Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and began reading it through, I asked, "Why is the word 'mind' sometimes capitalized and sometimes not? Why is Mind when capitalized always singular?" I didn't realize that in this differentiation between Mind and minds I had touched a profound truth that would finally bring me out of deep depressions.
