Testimonies of Healing
It is with great gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, that I tell of the wonderful change and happiness which Christian Science has brought into my life.
Christ Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. " How often I have repeated this text with deep thankfulness, as I have seen one false belief after another disappear at the word of the healing truth.
About three years ago I was very ill with lung and stomach trouble, also some lesser ailments. For the lung trouble I had been given very little encouragement from different physicians.
It is with deep gratitude that I give the particulars of my healing through Christian Science. All my life I had been delicate, and about ten years ago I had a serious illness, the doctor saying I was too far gone to be helped, so that I was dragging out a weary existence.
It is now ten years since I first heard of Christian Science, but I would not have it mentioned to me at that time, although I was a great sufferer. I was like one of those of whom Jesus said: "Because they seeing see not: and hearing they hear not.
WHILE I am sincerely grateful for the physical benefits that have come to me through Christian Science, I appreciate far more deeply the mental and moral awakening that has been mine as the result of its teaching. Especially is this the case in my healing from the blindness of ingratitude.
I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I was healed of the liquor habit in three weeks' treatment, and of epilepsy of over thirty years' standing.
Next to God, I wish to thank Mrs. Eddy and all the dear workers in Christian Science for the great blessings which I have thereby received.
I was for more than twenty-seven years a semiinvalid, suffering from a complication of diseases, the worst of which finally brought me to the operating-table. Life was indeed a burden.
Many times I have desired to write a grateful acknowledgment of the wonderful ways of Love as revealed to me in Christian Science, but my heart did not overflow. Today I truly am grateful, for my blessings have been more than I could wish or ask or hope, and I am glad.
