Testimonies of Healing

I feel it a duty as well as a privilege to tell what Christian Science has done for me. Until a short time ago the only feeling I had toward it was prejudice, born of ignorance, as I knew nothing about its teachings.

I Owe a debt of gratitude to Christian Science for the many blessings which it has brought me. Some ten years ago I turned to Christian Science and was healed of a severe chronic ailment, after I had consulted various physicians without receiving relief.

I feel it a duty to add my testimony to those of the thousands who after great tribulations have found a God of love. Early in May, 1898, my little girl, six years old, developed a very painful eye trouble.

AT the time Christian Science was presented to me I was receiving treatment from an osteopathic physician for an organic displacement, as well as a dislocation of the hip, and was taking medicine from a medical doctor for heart trouble. I was also having my eyes treated by an oculist, but without any apparent relief.

I have received so many blessings since I accepted Christian Science that I feel it a duty to tell others something of what it has done for our home. When Christian Science found me, I had been an invalid for seven years, but I was healed, and was soon able to help others.

Sincere gratitude impels me to testify to the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. I turned to it some two and a half years ago, while in a desperate condition, when friends who could not stand my distress any longer advised me to give it a trial.

I am sincerely grateful to be able to testify to the blessings which flow toward humanity through Christian Science — this glorious truth which saves us from blind faith and brings us the fruits of Spirit. As far as I can think back I was a sickly child.

I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing; in fact, when I first became interested in it I meant to leave that part out, as it seemed to me there were so many other things which I wanted more; but I had not been reading Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," many weeks before I had to realize for myself that Christian Science is like the seamless robe and that we are not allowed to divide it,—a conviction which came to me in such a way that I could not doubt it.

Three years ago I was broken down mentally and physically. My husband had been sick for five years and had to submit to an operation, from the results of which he passed on one year later.

For many years I suffered with stomach trouble, and could get no healing in spite of all the material remedies and cures to which I resorted. I had lost all hope of recovery when through acquaintances I heard of the many cases of healing wrought by Christian Science.
