Testimonies of Healing

It is with profound gratitude that I give this testimony. Four years ago Christian Science was recommended to me at a time of great physical need, and I was almost immediately healed of an organic trouble of nine years' standing.

Five years ago I was taken with severe lung trouble, which was aggravated by a fear of inherited disease,— several of my family having passed away with it. I was very much frightened, and the verdict from all, including doctors and.

About seven years ago I was stricken with a very acute attack of stomach trouble, for which I immediately placed myself under the care of the best doctors. My suffering at that time was terrible, and medicine seemed to do me no good.

I offer the following testimony as an expression of gratitude for the liberty I have found in Christian Science. For over seventeen years I suffered from the effects of a sunstroke, which were manifested in diseases of the stomach and kidneys, etc.

Little did I know when I called for physical help in Christian Science, what divine Love had in store for me. My thoughts go back to childhood days, when my mother was an invalid,—having serious lung trouble, as did also a brother, the family physician calling it hereditary in our family.

As a student of the University of Illinois, I wish to tell briefly of my short experience with Christian Science. I was not healed of any bodily ailment, but I have been healed of mental conditions to which I had been subject for some time.

Christian Science came to me in the darkest hour of my life, my wife having just passed away, leaving me a year-old babe to care for. I was weighed down with lung and stomach trouble, and with the expectation of soon joining my companion, who had succumbed to the same diseases.

AT the outset of this testimony it may be of interest to state that one in the ranks of journalism has surrendered completely to the Cause of Christian Science, after having been most active for many years on the line of bitter opposition. Truth came into my life less than a year ago, and the changes which have been effected since then are almost incredible.

I look back with deep gratitude to God upon nearly four years' acquaintance with Christian Science, for the spiritual and physical blessings it has brought to me and my family. Because I have derived so much help from the testimonies of others, I hope that mine will be of use to some one.

For the last two years I have lived a happier, healthier, and better life than I had ever known before, through the help that has come to me in the understanding of Christian Science. I turned to this Science in the hope of receiving mental and physical help, and though my healing was slow, it was sure.
