Testimonies of Healing

I am not a Christian Scientist, but I feel impelled to tell others of my own remarkable experience. On Jan.

Ten years ago last September I came to Christian Science for healing. I was practically a wreck, both mentally and physically, having gone through three prolonged attacks of serious nervous trouble in the six years previous.

We are told in the Bible to get wisdom, but with all our getting to get understanding, that understanding which "is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it. " Many blessings have been mine, but the greatest of these is the realization of the Christ, Truth, as taught in Christian Science.

I am reminded of my many blessings since I took up the study of Christian Science, about eight years ago, and the impression I received the first time I attended the Christian Science church, as the joy and peace that radiated from the faces of that congregation showed me they had hold of a satisfying good that I wanted. I did not take up the study of the subject for physical healing, yet I was soon healed of a trouble from which I had suffered for over ten years, just by the study of the Bible and Science and Health.

It is with grateful hearts that we acknowledge the great good Christian Science has brought to our family. In April, 1904, our little daughter, then three years old, had an operation for the removal of the decayed mastoid bone, the operation being a very severe one and requiring a great deal of care.

I had excellent health until about forty years of age, when a serious heart trouble began to develop, and from that time my health and strength seemed to fail. I had neuralgic, kidney, and stomach trouble, besides many other ailments that I had only known by name before.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE found me, thirteen years ago, discouraged and disheartened. My wife was a hopeless invalid, and my two children were afflicted with chronic diseases; I was in debt, had lost interest in political and church work, and apparently the worst was yet to come.

I bear glad witness to the healing and saving power of the Word of Truth. I have been healed of sin, sickness, discouragement, and fear through Christian Science, which came to me when life seemed very empty.

It is indeed with a heart overflowing with gratitude that I give my testimony of healing through Christian Science. We have known of Christian Science only three years, but more good has come to us in that time than ever before.
