Testimonies of Healing

Dissatisfaction with life, even in small ways, is a type of burden because it tries to draw us away from recognizing the continuous, loving care of God. Mental trickery such as this is only a false human concept originating in an erring mortal mind.

My teen-age years were plagued by many ailments. Hay fever, pneumonia, colds, flu, and a painful lung condition followed one after another and kept me from attending school much of the time.

For nearly forty years I worked as a traveling salesman. Many have been the instances of healing, protection, and guidance through prayerfully applying the teachings of Christian Science, both at home and while on the road.

Christian Science is the only way of life I have known. With much gratitude for the many wonderful healings I have had and seen, I mention a few of the discordant conditions that have been overcome through Christian Science: colds, constipation, alcoholism, lack, unhappy relations, and grief.

As a child growing up in a family of practicing Christian Scientists, I witnessed many healings and found it natural to trust God, Love. One healing that has stood out as a landmark to me in the years since occurred while I was still in elementary school.

Christian Science is wonderful, and I am grateful to be a lifelong student of this teaching. When I was in high school, I suffered what appeared to be a severe hemorrhage of the lungs.

For four years after I was married I didn't attend church, although I never stopped reading and praying and studying Christian Science. During that time I wasn't very well.
