Testimonies of Healing

In the very early years of this century, my paternal grandmother became completely helpless with rheumatoid arthritis. The doctor, called in by my father, gave her a very short time to live.

I have always been inspired and my enthusiasm renewed when I recall what the Bible says ( Job 32:8 ): "There is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. " All of us in our own way are seeking understanding.

Before I was born I was given up for adoption. After birth I was considered too sick to leave the hospital and was kept there for three months.

Enlightened prayer in Christian Science brought me through a difficult trial some years ago. I was preparing a favorite deep-fried specialty for my family.

Nothing is more joyous than getting a clear glimpse of the truth that heals. The need for healing always forces me to seek a deeper understanding of Truth, God, and His allness.

When I first heard of Christian Science, I was in very poor health and was being treated by doctors for cancer. Like the woman in the Bible (Luke 8:43), I had spent all but was no better.

Christian Science has brought healing to our family for nearly half a century. My mother was healed instantaneously of two severe difficulties when she visited a practitioner.

A few years after my wife and I were married, we bought an old remodeled farmhouse. The weeds, mostly goldenrod and ragweed, grew right up to the front door.

In a 1955 issue of the Christian Science Sentinel I told in a testimony how I was protected on the Korean front, and my gratitude for all the bountiful beauty Christian Science had brought into my life. In the intervening years I have had many more proofs of the healing and protecting efficacy of Christian Science.

Thanksgiving! This national holiday is of special significance in our family. It was the day that Christian Science found us.
