Testimonies of Healing

" Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul" ( Ps. 66: 16 ).

Over two years ago I was depressed and discouraged. My husband's business had failed, his father and mother were both very-ill, and I was without any material security, as we had sold our car and our household goods to meet our business obligations.

I am unspeakably grateful to God that He made Himself known to men through Christ Jesus and grateful also to our loved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has so ably restored the healing works of the Master by making clear to our age the Science of his teaching.

My parents took up the study of Christian Science about forty-five years ago and I can never sufficiently express my appreciation for having had the privilege of being reared in a home where the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly had its regular place in the pattern of our family living. Because there were few Christian Scientists in our community, we had the opportunity only occasionally of attending Sunday School, but our home was always a meeting place for those students who were passing through, or temporarily residing in, our town.

I first heard of Christian Science through a young man, well known to our family, whose mother had been healed of cancer. This introduction seemed to prepare my thought to accept Christian Science when it was presented to me later.

Our young son, who had been under the care of a pediatrician for about three weeks for what was diagnosed as mastoiditis, had grown steadily worse. The doctor had been called at family insistence, and when the child grew no better, they consented to Christian Science treatment.
