Testimonies of Healing

I have had many healings through the understanding and application of Christian Science, and I am so grateful to Mrs. Eddy for Science and Health and her other writings, which bring us this wonderful Christlight, I realize more each day how inspired she was.

I want to give my word of gratitude for Christian Science. Shortly after I started reading Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, which a loving neighbor had recommended to help me overcome a confused sense of thought, my eleven-month-old daughter was stricken with spasms.

Many years ago, when I was suffering from an extreme nervous condition, Christian Science was called to my attention by a fellow employee. I evinced enough interest to visit a practitioner and purchase a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

How wonderful it is that Mary Baker Eddy has provided avenues of expression through the testimony meetings and our periodicals whereby students of Christian Science may attest to the healing efficacy of this great religion! In my early home life I had orthodox religious training, but I sought a more practical, everyday religion. This thirst was quenched a few years ago, when Christian Science was lovingly offered to me.

My first experience with Christian Science was when our son was about twelve years old. He was very sick with a high fever, and upon examination the doctor said that a serious operation was necessary.

It was a great and far-reaching event when Mrs. Eddy revealed the Science of Christianity to mankind in her textbook, Science and Health.

I feel that the time is overdue for this expression of gratitude to God for all the wonderful benefits I have received from Christian Science. I was not at first very friendly toward this Science because I thought it revolutionary.

Although I was antagonistic toward what I thought Christian Science to be, I was led through prayer to visit a practitioner at a time of great need. I had always longed for a better understanding of God.

It is with sincere gratitude for Christian Science that this testimony is written. Before I married in 1911, I had been a medical nurse.

I have been grateful for many years that I accepted Christian Science without question when it was presented to me in a time of great need. I was suffering from a very badly diseased limb and a serious internal disorder due to the pending birth of a child.
