Testimonies of Healing

Because I was born and reared in Christian Science, it would be difficult for me to list the many instances of protection and healings in regard to finances, personal relationships, and various discords that I have had. Among the physical healings are those of mastoiditis, smallpox, measles, and influenza, as well as many other difficulties which were never diagnosed.

More than thirty years ago I began the study of Christian Science for relief from an illness of many years' standing. I was weak and had lost much weight and was in constant pain.

Christian Science is truly a religion of great joy. I have had every opportunity to prove this.

I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science because it has meant everything to me for many years. I was born and reared in an atmosphere of love on a large Maryland farm, but never did any hard work until I was married and moved to another farm.

It has taken me over eighteen years to write my first testimony, and for this delay I am truly ashamed, as no one has more cause for gratitude for Christian Science than I. Three doctors said I could not possibly live two weeks without an immediate blood transfusion and an operation.

My mother was one of the early pioneers of Christian Science, and her family was brought up to depend entirely upon God for every need. I am grateful for that training and for always having attended a Christian Science Sunday School.

My introduction to Christian Science came when a neighbor, who had been transformed by this law of God, said to me, "Divine Love governs," and I was instantaneously healed of a cold. Later, after an unsuccessful operation in my throat, a well-known nose and throat specialist said he would operate again because the growth had returned; but he would not promise that the condition would not reappear.
