Testimonies of Healing

At the time when Christian Science was first offered to me by a brother, the outlook seemed dark indeed. My husband had been ill with heart trouble for nearly six years and was unable to work.

From earliest childhood I have turned naturally to God for guidance, strengthening of moral fiber, and courage to go forward. Once, when I was still quite young, I expressed the wish to see the Master.

When Christian Science was presented to me over twenty-five years ago, I had investigated almost every known religion but had found nothing tangible or satisfying in any of them. From childhood I had always loved to attend church and Sunday School, but as I grew older, questions would come to my thought which could not be answered by any of these religions.

I want to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science. I was healed of tuberculosis, stomach ulcers, and other diseases while studying the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs.

When one attempts to give a testimony of the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science, it becomes clear that any such testimony can but briefly touch upon the countless number of causes for gratitude of which one becomes aware. Whilst serving in the Royal Navy, I had innumerable opportunities of proving the truths of Christian Science and of realizing how literally those words of the Psalmist, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty," could be applied.

Because I was born and reared in Christian Science, it would be difficult for me to list the many instances of protection and healings in regard to finances, personal relationships, and various discords that I have had. Among the physical healings are those of mastoiditis, smallpox, measles, and influenza, as well as many other difficulties which were never diagnosed.

More than thirty years ago I began the study of Christian Science for relief from an illness of many years' standing. I was weak and had lost much weight and was in constant pain.

Christian Science is truly a religion of great joy. I have had every opportunity to prove this.
