Testimonies of Healing

I have many reasons to thank God that Mrs. Eddy has made Christ Jesus' teachings practical for us in this age.

Many years ago I found the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, in a public library. I became so interested in it that I borrowed it several times until I had read the entire book through three times.

When I was of high school age, my mother found Christian Science. Changing her seat in a railroad station because a spider was crawling near her, she sat beside a woman who spoke to her of fear in general.

I was very ill for a great many years with asthma. I swallowed much medicine and consulted many physicians, all to no avail.

It gives me great pleasure to express gratitude and to testify that Christian Science has been a way of life for me during the past sixteen years. The statement from Science and Health by Mrs.

For the far-reaching activities of The Mother Church, I am most grateful. The Wartime Activities Committee filled an important need while I was in the service, for through the Christian Science Servicemen's Centers I gained a clear realization of home.

With a heart filled with gratitude to Christ Jesus and to Mrs. Eddy, I write this testimony.

In August, 1925, to human sense I had lost my mind and with it everything that I held dear in life; but I was brought face to face with God through Christian Science, which I turned to when I realized the doctor could not help me. I threw out all the medicine which he had given me and told him that I was going to have Christian Science treatment.

About twenty-nine years have passed since my testimony was printed in the Christian Science Sentinel , and it seems right that I should acknowledge publicly that those healings have been permanent. This wonderful regenerating Science came into the home when it was so new our father and mother had never even heard of it or of Mary Baker Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder.

It is now over twenty-six years since Christian Science was first brought to my notice. I was well and happy at the time and did not realize that its teachings could be applied to any inharmony with which one might be confronted, but since then I have experienced many healings, including those of catarrh, pneumonia, colds, poisoned lips, headaches, and sciatica, and have experienced protection for myself and a loved one whom I nursed for many years.
