Testimonies of Healing
Ever since I can remember, I desired to know the truth of all things. When I was visiting different churches in my search for Truth, my prayer was, "Dear God, if there is a truth beyond this material ceremony, lead me that I may find it.
It is high time I put into writing the gratitude I feel for Christian Science. For over thirty years it has been my only physician.
From early childhood I longed to know God. At the age of twelve I joined an orthodox church because my mother wished me to do so.
About fifteen years ago I became interested in Christian Science. After reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
" God is Love. " These words spoken by a consecrated practitioner were my introduction to Christian Science, through which we learn that God, good, is All-in-all and error has no power.
Christ Jesus promised ( John 8:31, 32 ), "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. " How to know what is true has baffled human beings throughout history; however, the study and application of Christian Science, as taught in Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, illumine the above statement of our Master and give the correct rules for healing sickness and sin.
" Sing unto the Lord a new song," declared the Psalmist; and again, "Make his praise glorious. " During the time that I was training for a musical career, there were many opportunities to prove the value of Christian Science.
My joy is great for having had the firm foundation of training in the Christian Science Sunday School, although at the time I did not appreciate it as I should have. I drifted away from Science as I grew older, until my children came.
It gives me great pleasure to be able to testify to the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. Seven years ago a great change came into my life when I accepted its teachings.
What has been done for me by a correct concept of God as revealed through Christian Science can best be described in the words of the fortieth Psalm: "He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God.
