Testimonies of Healing
With very deep gratitude I express my appreciation of the message of Christian Science. On page 494 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we are told that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need.
I am happy and grateful to confirm my wife's remarks relating to my healing. I was first enabled to realize my freedom in 1923 through the clear understanding of a practitioner.
Ten years ago, after the birth of my son, I was in constant ill-health for a period of two years. When he was four months old I was taken in an ambulance to a hospital for an X ray and observation.
Christian Science has indeed been the "pearl of great price" in my life and home. My first outstanding healing was that of gallstones some seventeen years ago, after an operation had proved ineffectual.
In the year 1911, while I was near death, a Christian Scientist found me in the borderland of the then undeveloped Everglades. I had gone there on a homestead, and had fallen victim to fever.
The healing power of Christian Science has freed me from many physical and financial difficulties and countless other discordant conditions. During many years I have received spiritual enlightenment, comfort in sorrow, peace, and happiness.
In payment of our debt of gratitude to Christian Science, I offer this testimony, hoping it may help others as I have been helped through the testimonies in our periodicals. Shortly after we took up the study of this Science our little son seemed to be suffering from earache.
I should like to add a word of gratitude to the above testimony for all that Christian Science has meant to us. It has been our only physician for a number of years and has met our every need when properly applied.
Because the religion of Christ Jesus and his disciples has again become a living reality through the healing, purifying influence of Christian Science, I am deeply grateful. I have experienced the healing of many discordant conditions, some of which have been overcome instantly, while others have yielded more slowly.
Before taking up the study of Christian Science, I was in bondage in many ways to material sense, having had the drinking habit for about forty years. This habit was so firmly established that I believed I could not get along without drinking.
