Testimonies of Healing

There are probably few people who have more reason to be grateful to Christian Science than I have, and I wish to tell of a healing which took place in our home over two years ago. In October, 1917, our son, then three and one half years of age, was taken very ill with what was diagnosed as infantile paralysis.

Knowing but very little about Christian Science, I came into it for the healing of melancholia and nervous prostration. The third day after asking for help I awakened from darkness into light.

Through the reading of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of abnormal growths, sick headaches, intestinal disorder, and curvature of the spine.

While working on a problem which seemed slow to yield, it came to me that I was expecting a great deal but had really given very little, and the law of Love is, "Ceasing to give we cease to have;" so with a heart full of gratitude I wish to tell what Christian Science has done for me. I began the study of Christian Science when a young girl, not for physical healing, but for a discordant condition in my home life, also for a hasty and selfish disposition.

It is somewhat over four years since I came into Christian Science for a better understanding of God. I had never been well, and when I first saw the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

I submit the following testimony, hoping it will be of some help to my fellow students of Christian Science. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for what this beautiful Christ, Truth, has done for me and mine.

Christian Science was brought to my notice at a time when I truly seemed to be without hope or God. In this extremity I reached out for anything that might afford relief.

Christian Science has healed me of infidelity. When a boy, my teaching in matters pertaining to religion was under a parent who did not believe in the Bible and who had secured all of the literature possible to prove his position.

I was instantaneously healed in Christian Science through reading the chapter on Prayer, in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Before I came into Christian Science, which is now over three years, I was a sufferer all my life, more or less with headaches.

This is to testify how deeply grateful I am for Christian Science. Words are inadequate to express all that my heart would say.
