Testimonies of Healing
I wish to make an acknowledgment of what Truth has done for me, as I feel that I have not been grateful enough. Of late, especially, I have tried to be more thankful, and I am glad of an opportunity to express my gratitude.
With the hope that in relating my own experience in Christian Science I may be of help to some other young man who is trying to feel satisfied with so-called worldly pleasures, I gratefully give this testimony. Christian Science came to me twice in about five months, in times of great need, and I can truly say that all I am today, and all I ever aspire to be, I owe to this truth.
About two and a half years ago Christian Science was brought to my notice by my brother-in-law, who had returned to Africa after a prolonged stay in different parts of Europe in search of health. He informed me that the marked physical improvement which I saw in him was the result of Mrs.
I feel it a duty as well as a pleasure to give my testimony for publication, hoping thus to help some one who may be discouraged, as I was when I first learned of Christian Science. I had been under medical treatment for many months, but was not receiving any benefit.
Having been pronounced a victim of serious lung trouble, I was sent to the southern part of California in the hope that the climate there might be of some benefit. This was three and a half years ago.
I desire to express my deep sense of gratitude for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. It is just four years since this truth was brought to me.
It has been about ten years since I was first led to Christian Science through the healing of a disease pronounced incurable by the best physicians the country afforded. For six months I suffered constant pain, except when lying down.
With gratitude to God and the hope that these few lines may be of some help to others, I gladly give my testimony. About a year ago, when suffering from a most painful sense of mental depression, groping in the dark, seeking for something, the want of which made life as then known blank and dreary, I turned to Christian Science.
For nearly twenty years I was a constant sufferer from severe backaches and other ills of womankind. I was treated by the best physicians, and I believe they were conscientious in their endeavors to help me, but they finally gave up and said that nothing except an operation would relieve the trouble.
When but a child I had a distressing nervous trouble and a paralytic affection of the left side. Although I was said to have been cured by materia medica, the cruel traces remained in a weakened constitution.
