Testimonies of Healing
Considering that I have been a Christian Scientist all of my life, this testimony is perhaps overdue. When I was experiencing excruciating pains in my stomach and chest, over a period of some weeks, I prayed sporadically about the situation.

My family had just met up in Belgium, and we were driving down a highway in the midafternoon, planning to stop early. I had been on a night flight, and told my wife I needed to sleep a few minutes while she drove.
Christian Science came to me when a workmate introduced me to it. I had been going to hospital for daily electric shock treatment to keep finger movement happening.
A beloved psalm says: "How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! .
My interest in Christian Science was at first on an intellectual basis. I expected to find some answers to questions from my Biblical studies, as well as explanations of Bible stories in general.
During a three-week period in January 1994 I had a number of physical problems in which I was sorely tested to put into practice everything I had learned about God, His allness, His goodness, and loving care for His children. After the loss of five relatives in the space of six years, I was sorely in need of rocklike spiritual truths to help me. I cried a great deal, and it was very difficult to surmount the great sorrow I felt, particularly after the loss of a son.
I grew up learning that God is always at hand. In childhood, my health needs were met by the prayers of my parents, occasionally with the help of a Christian Science practitioner.
At first the only thing I knew about Christian Science was that it was supposed to heal. Because I was in great pain, I went to an internist whom I knew well.
