Testimonies of Healing
A healing I had changed the way I approach my practice of Christian Science. As a child I had received the protection that the prayers of my parents and Sunday School teachers brought.
Ever since I was a child I sensed that God must exist, but I could not find much more evidence than basic intuition. I had read the Bible and could not understand it very well, although the New Testament and its message about love touched me.
When my daughter was about four years old, she caught one of her fingers in a small folding chair, severing it at the top joint. In a state of fear and shock, I immediately got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner, who allayed my fears with spiritual assurances full of love.
I'm the substitute soloist for my Christian Science branch church. One Sunday I was practicing my solo, when two people arrived very early for church.
One night when my son was about sixteen months old, he became hot and congested. Usually I would pray for the child first before calling for help from a practitioner.

What I witnessed as Virginia was working out her healing was sometimes most frightening to me. I am not a lifelong Christian Scientist, although I have been one for many years, and have seen many healings through prayer.
Considering that I have been a Christian Scientist all of my life, this testimony is perhaps overdue. When I was experiencing excruciating pains in my stomach and chest, over a period of some weeks, I prayed sporadically about the situation.
My family had just met up in Belgium, and we were driving down a highway in the midafternoon, planning to stop early. I had been on a night flight, and told my wife I needed to sleep a few minutes while she drove.
Christian Science came to me when a workmate introduced me to it. I had been going to hospital for daily electric shock treatment to keep finger movement happening.
