Testimonies of Healing

From the February 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I remember that a favorite expression of one of my Sunday School teachers was "Keep prayed up!" That meant that one needed to pray all the time, not just for help when having troubles. We learned that such constant prayer would enable us to solve problems that might arise.

In the summer of 1994 a situation arose in my family that could have destroyed my peace and joy, had I not been "prayed up."

Late one Saturday night I received a telephone call, informing me that my oldest grandson and his wife were dead. Even as this distressing news was being told to me, I was so filled with the realization of real Life—God —that it simply was not possible for me to believe in death. It wasn't even something that I had to pray about on the spot, or consciously know, for it was an understanding of true being built into my awareness, through years of studying and practicing Christian Science. The apparent death of loved ones cannot alter the reality that being, existence, is in Spirit, in eternal Life!
