Poems

A letter to the infinite Unseen

From the February 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Dear God:
I used to say, "life is cruel,"
Until I learned that You are Life.
In the midst of injustice, cruelty, and disappointment,
You were guarding and guiding my upward way.
How many times I was on the brink of destruction
(In one way or another):
The times when, so young, I had to make decisions
Too big for a child. Yet,
I prayed, and You were there;
You straightened things out.
How grateful I am to have felt Your power
Infinitely greater than I.
I trusted then, I will trust now.
I may have faltered along the way, but
You have never failed me.
You held me up and healed me.
Thank you, God, my dearest adorable One.
