Importunity

Luke 11:8

From the February 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This word is a pressing one;
It implies urging,
Insistence in asking,
Persistence in requesting,
Repeated imploring.
Our yearning?—
To know that whatever the appearance,

infinite good,

Is ever present,
Everywhere,
And we are His expression.
So, keep knocking!
He is here.
It is our duty, our privilege,
It is wisdom's way,
To be importunate,
To be persistent
In acknowledging our spirituality,
To be more and more receptive to Truth,
To be insistent
In claiming our birthright
Of freedom from all ills.
So, be importunate!
For the mists will lift,
Obstacles dissolve,
Limitations flee,
Discords cease.
Keep knocking!
Be importunate!
God is here!
