Testimonies of Healing

When one of my sons was a young child, a contagious illness of concern at the time was chickenpox. I had seen other children who had struggled through it, so I was aware of the symptoms when I saw my son showing signs of it.

I am immensely grateful for a healing experience I had while traveling with a group that would be visiting a school in the northeastern corner of India near the Tibetan border. As I do every time I prepare to depart on a trip like this, I prayed for the safety and protection of everyone on the trip.

I competed in Masters rowing from 2000 to 2018. In 2017 I had one of my most active seasons.

My husband and I were moving a rather heavy desk with a hutch (cabinet) on the top. The hutch wasn’t anchored to the desk, so although we weren’t moving the furniture far, one corner of the hutch slipped and crushed one of my fingers against the wall.

This author learned that a simple prayer like The Lord’s Prayer can bring complete healing.

Throughout much of my adult life, I seemed to be faced with the stress of financial lack. As a single mother much of the time, I struggled with what turned out to be futile attempts at being self-supporting.

During the Thanksgiving season, this author experienced healing when she understood more about God and her spiritual identity.

“Sometime we shall learn how Spirit, the great architect, has created men and women in Science,” wrote Mary Baker Eddy in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures ( p. 68 ).

The author “saw this challenge as an opportunity for spiritual growth” and yielded to divine Spirit with complete trust.

After almost a month at sea on an ocean sailing race, our yacht was hit by several major squalls. During one of the most severe wind gusts, a large wave came over the bow, and I was thrown with great force against the inner forestay, injuring my chest.
