Testimonies of Healing
Throughout much of my adult life, I seemed to be faced with the stress of financial lack. As a single mother much of the time, I struggled with what turned out to be futile attempts at being self-supporting.
During the Thanksgiving season, this author experienced healing when she understood more about God and her spiritual identity.
“Sometime we shall learn how Spirit, the great architect, has created men and women in Science,” wrote Mary Baker Eddy in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures ( p. 68 ).
The author “saw this challenge as an opportunity for spiritual growth” and yielded to divine Spirit with complete trust.
After almost a month at sea on an ocean sailing race, our yacht was hit by several major squalls. During one of the most severe wind gusts, a large wave came over the bow, and I was thrown with great force against the inner forestay, injuring my chest.
Can three little words lead to healing? The author prayed with the idea that “God is Love.”
Following the very difficult natural delivery of our first child, I was told by the attending physician that I should never attempt another natural delivery—that it would be dangerous for both the baby and me. I prayed earnestly to better understand God’s allness as the only cause and power governing and loving all creation.
Several years ago , an acutely itchy and burning condition appeared all over my scalp. I’d had many healings since I found Christian Science in 1995, so I was eager to rely completely on prayer to heal this condition as well.
The author was new to Christian Science and experienced healing when she saw that all power belongs to God.
For many years I lived with a growth on my back that, although not uncomfortable, caused me embarrassment when I wore summer clothes. I prayed, but I admit I wasn’t very diligent in my attempts to heal it.
