Several years ago, a spot appeared on my lower neck. When it became inflamed and did not go away, I felt disturbed and decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for metaphysical treatment.
In my work as a classical musician, I perform mostly in chamber music ensembles with various other instruments. Some time ago I performed with another person in a duo ensemble for several years.
When Mary Baker Eddy founded the Church of Christ, Scientist, she included a provision for Christian Science Reading Rooms. These rooms provide a place where anyone can pray and study Christian Science as well as access the periodicals and books published by The Christian Science Publishing Society.
During one of our family’s regular trips to the dentist for cleanings, the dentist said that updated X-rays needed to be taken of my daughter’s mouth—she was eight at the time. The X-rays showed there wasn’t enough room in her mouth for new teeth to come in.
Three years ago a new friend and I were having a casual discussion about different religions. She mentioned that she had grown up in the Christian Science faith, and that she had witnessed some amazing healings, accomplished entirely through prayer.
When I lived in a small village years ago in Mexico, and before I knew about Christian Science, I contracted some sort of disease that manifested itself in open sores, first on one foot, then the other. The sores grew in scope and infected both legs.
A few years ago, I was faced with challenging physical symptoms, including difficulty in breathing, fatigue, and loss of appetite. It was during a time when I was very active in serving as musical and lighting director for an amateur theater company in our community.
Last winter several incidents brought about back pain so severe that I could hardly stand or sit comfortably. I tried a couple of common material remedies, a chiropractor, and holistic medications, but there was no relief.
Gophers destroy gardens. I had a very large garden and decided on a humane approach—often inserting smoke bombs into their tunnels to encourage them to find dwellings elsewhere.
