I’ve noticed a great deal of discussion recently concerning heart attacks, and a lot of description of the symptoms. I’ve seen it mentioned in newspapers and on television constantly.

Recently, I traveled out of town with friends for dinner and to hear an orchestra concert. Not long after the concert began, I started feeling ill.

Last year I experienced a sharp pain in the side of my torso. This pain seemed to come out of nowhere.

In a lifetime of relying on Christian Science, I have had many healings. Some of them took a while.

A few years ago when a cousin and I were praying together, she told me about a healing her grandfather had that became our family’s introduction to Christian Science. This man, my mother’s eldest brother, had exhausted all medical means and was healed of leukemia in its final stages through Christian Science treatment.

At the beginning of spring last year, I went for a walk one morning. It was a clear day, and the park was alive with people who, like me, were enjoying the sights, sounds, and fragrances of nature.

Several months ago, I woke up with an arresting sense of pain in my stomach. As a young working professional who was new to the workforce, I attempted to go to work that day, thinking that I could simply work through the challenge.

Christ Jesus said, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” ( Luke 10:19 ). Those words came to me very early one morning earlier this year.

Some years ago, soon after starting college, I noticed a bit of pain in both my upper and lower jaw. Soon after that, I had a dental appointment.
