Dear Mrs. Eddy,—for so I must call you,—having been benefitted so much by reading your books. As others, who have been healed wholly or in part, have reported their cases, I thought you would like to hear from me; and perhaps others, afflicted similarly, may be benefitted also, if you think it advisable to publish the following account of my case.
I have been afflicted with asthma over forty years, at times very severely. Twenty-four years ago commenced to have so many other complaints—female complaints—that I had to give up work, and keep my bed for weeks at a time, employing different physicians, with only temporary relief. Last July I fell, breaking my arm, and spraining my foot very badly. In October I could use my hand only slightly, and was only able to get about the house on crutches. A young friend of mine, having some slight knowledge of Science and Health, began treating me for my many ailments, and advised my getting the book, which I did. She treated me but a few weeks. I continued studying the work, and now rejoice in perfect health as the result. I can do all my own housework, such as washing and ironing, work in my flower-garden, and pick strawberries too. With great respect and thankfulness.
