Dear Journal: I want to acknowledge through your columns, what Christian Science has done for me. For the first time in my life I can say truly that I love God, because I understand Him as I never did before. Last September I was brought where utter helplessness seemed inevitable, from sciatic rheumatism, of long years' endurance. I was advised, and inclined to take Metaphysical treatment. It was my good fortune to be a trial-patient of our good brother and successful healer, John Moore; of Cambridge. In less than two weeks I thought I was well, and should have been satisfied if I had gained no more. I bought Science and Health, read it daily, and have gained ever since. In January, I joined Mrs. M. J. Smith's class in Allston. Through her kind instructions, coupled with my cure, and reading, all the darkness and doubt of my life have been dispelled. When I first understood that "God is Principle and not person," it was like a great light suddenly shining. Christian Science is good to talk about and think about; to live it, is pure and undefiled religion.
