LOVE

From the October 1904 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Who lives in Love, lives too in God.
He cleaves the air and spurns the sod,
In skyward flight.

Love knoweth not a single thought
That's born of earth, nor knows it aught
Of self or sin.

Love seeketh not its own, but gives
Itself for everything that lives
Beneath the sun.

The peace, and power of heaven reigns
In hearts where Love hath healed the pains
Of sinful sense.

He starts at mercy's faintest call
Who knows that Love, on earth, is all,
E'en as in heaven.
