It is with joy and gratitude that I write this testimony. Five years ago I was healed of the worst form of goitre through Christian Science treatment. For several years I suffered with terrible nervousness, which was growing worse all the time. Finally I had stagnation of the blood, which seemed to come from any excitement. During these spells I would scream with fright and could get no relief until my hand and arm were immersed in hot water. I would also drink very hot water, but I never felt the heat during those spells. For several years nearly all company was forbidden to come to the house, as I could not bear to have even a member of my own family in the room with me but a few minutes at a time. During all this time I had to take my meals entirely alone. Nothing would tempt me to think upon this dark experience, if it were not for the thought that its narration might help some one to know Christian Science and the nothingness of disease. Several physicians experimented upon me, but they said it was a disease which doctors did not know much about at present. The last medicine I used was expensive and I had to take it a long time. I seemed to be gaining slowly at this time, although my doctor said I would never be well again, and that I could never live without this medicine. He also laid down many restrictions.
In Christian Science I immediately gave up the medicine, and I was quickly healed of the goitre, taking treatments only a few weeks. For five years I have had no occasion to touch medicine. To-day I am a well woman. The swelling has disappeared from my throat, and my eyes have gone back into their right position. All the attending ills have disappeared, and words cannot express the happiness of this freedom. I would like to add, that all I have and all that I am, I owe to Christian Science. "The Lord he is God [good]; there is none else beside him."
