I feel it a duty, and also a privilege, to send in my mite in the way of testimony to some of the benefits received through Christian Science. I cannot tell all the peace, contentment, and change for the better that have come into my home through this blessed truth, but I will refer to two demonstrations which my husband was able to make for me just recently. A short time ago I was suffering with neuralgia in my teeth; my husband gave me treatment when I retired at night, and I felt relieved sufficiently to go to sleep; but later I awoke, worse than ever. He got up and treated me until I went to sleep again. I awoke some time in the afterpart of the night with terrible cramps in my limbs, then in the stomach, so that I could not talk, and could scarcely get my breath, but by holding firmly to the truth for about an hour, every vestige of the error was destroyed, and there has been no return.
Another time I was taken ill, and by night it was so serious I did not think there could possibly be any sleep for me; but my husband treated me for about an hour, then I went to sleep, and when I awoke the fever had gone down and the cold had loosened. We both had a good night's rest, and in the morning I was up at six as usual, got my breakfast, and was soon doing my work.
Who would not praise God and love our dearly beloved Leader for this knowledge of the truth that makes us free? Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." When one denies the reality of pain, and the denial frees from pain, who will dare to dispute that it is an assertion of truth?— Fort Dodge, Kan.
