Testimonies of Healing

I know not how to express my...

From the October 1913 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I KNOW not how to express my thankfulness for the help I have received from Christian Science. Four years ago I knew little or nothing about it, and when my two-year-old boy had an attack of bronchitis, a doctor was sent for. He told me the child not only had a severe cold, but that he was simply "choked up" with growths in the nose, and must have an operation; but as I greatly dreaded that ordeal, I made up my mind at once that it could do no harm to try Christian Science, about which such remarkable things were told. I inquired for a practitioner, and was introduced to one, to whose kindness I owe much. He began treatment at once, and in less than three weeks every symptom of the trouble had disappeared. The boy slept with his mouth closed, and every night there were marks on his pillow which pointed to the removal of the growths. I needed no further proof myself to know that he was entirely cured, but in order fully to convince others, I took him again to the doctor and had his nose and throat thoroughly examined, the result being that not the slightest trace of the old trouble could be found.

About a year after this experience the boy developed a violent case of whooping-cough, with the usual symptoms, constant sickness, etc. Again the practitioner treated him at once, and after the first visit the child neither whooped nor was he even sick, and in less than forty-eight hours there was not a sign of his having had anything the matter with him. At another time he had a very severe and to all appearances a dangerous attack of bowel trouble. I telephoned once more to the practitioner, and within six hours, not only was all danger over, but the child quickly recovered from the effects of the illness. Since that time a sharp attack of measles was overcome in three days, there being scarcely any perceptible weakness even after two nights of high fever, when the boy was slightly delirious. The characteristic cough stopped almost instantly after treatment.

These are only a few cases among the numberless instances in which Christian Science has helped us. It is with the truest gratitude to God and deep thankfulness to Mrs. Eddy that I write this testimony.—
