I am, and have every reason to be, full of gratitude to our Father-Mother God, "who healeth all thy diseases," for I have been healed of tuberculosis.
When Christian Science first came directly to my notice I was in a sanitarium in Denver, Col., where I had gone after trying other "cures" in another state. Hearing of a lecture on Christian Science to be given on a Sunday afternoon, my wife and I resolved to find out something about this fad, for such, in our ignorance, we thought it. We attended the lecture, and probably like many others in that crowded audience we "who came to scoff, remained to pray." The lecturer opened up to us untold possibilities and an entirely new line of thought, and we went away too full of these wonderful ideas to have anything to say to any one.
That night I did not sleep more than an hour or two; I was too busy turning over in my mind the remarks of the lecturer and, as I can see now, wrestling with error and trying to determine on which side I would be. Could I place my reliance on this new thought of God, so entirely foreign to my previous concept of Him, or must I continue in the bondage of materia medica? Truth was on my side, however, and the battle was won before daybreak. The next day, therefore, I declared my intention of leaving the sanitarium, and the following Monday I found rooms and took my first Christian Science treatment. My healing was not immediate, and there were many days when doubts would creep in, but I continued to hold fast to this revelation of an infinite Principle and man in His image and likeness. In less than two months I was completely healed. Though I went to work, working harder than ever before, there has been no return of any of the symptoms, and I have been able to go anywhere and do anything that it has fallen to me to do.
