I have had many demonstrations of Truth's healing efficacy and they have brought to me a peace and comfort I never before knew. As a young girl I tried to read the Bible, but being unable to understand it and only feeling more confused on account of the seeming contradictions, the reading was dropped. I felt sure all things were possible with God, but did not know how to pray aright. Since I began the study of Christian Science, the Bible has been read daily in connection with the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and it is becoming clearer each day.
After having been told by our physician that an operation was the only means known to give relief in a case like mine, I was healed through Christian Science in one treatment. Several years later our little daughter was cured of appendicitis in two treatments. Our children have been wonderfully healed of supposedly contagious diseases. Small-pox was overcome in a very short time, and only one child had it. I slept with her for the three nights while the irritation lasted, though I had never had the disease. A practitioner gave one treatment in this case, but my little daughter and I worked almost continuously for three days.
I am indeed grateful to be relieved of the fear which would come to me every time there was a seeming disturbance with the children; now I know it is just another occasion to prove the supremacy of Truth. I had much opposition to overcome at first, but it has all faded away and harmony prevails.— Portland, Ore.
