With a deep sense of gratitude and a song of praise to the one God, I lovingly give my testimony as to the power of Christian Science to heal. For years I was in bondage to a so-called organic disease, and at different times was under the care of physicians, but with only temporary relief. About four years ago one of the best surgeons of the Northwest said I would never be well until I had undergone an operation, and this law was hanging over me when I began to read the text-book. During the first few days of my reading the text-book I was healed of defective eyesight. Glasses that had been worn for years were simply forgotten, and my eyes have remained perfectly normal. This healing was an awakening indeed, My vision of Truth, of God, was becoming clearer, and I knew that I would never need to undergo that operation; that the truth would make me free. I sought a practitioner immediately, and shall never cease to be grateful for that visit. Right then began the renewing of my thoughts of both God and man. I made just three visits to this practitioner and was healed; there has never been a return of a single symptom of the old trouble.
