For many years I reached out for something that I felt was lacking in my religious belief, and there came a day when my longing and research were rewarded through the realization that God is not a far-away corporeal being, but the all-presence, Love. For ten years, however, I wandered in the wilderness. Then divine Love led me to attend the Christian Science church, and as I studied the Lesson-Sermons in order to be an intelligent listener, I found what I was seeking. As I have found the haven of rest, of harmony and peace, I am glad to be a witness to the healing power of Truth.
I had studied Christian Science less than one year when I was able to demonstrate that sight is spiritual, and glasses were laid aside, although I'had just been supplied with lenses much stronger than those formerly used. This demonstration was made during the Sunday morning service. Last summer I had a very trying illness which probably would have been diagnosed as gastritis of the bowels, with complications. Through Christian Science treatment and the knowledge I have of the healing power of the Christ, Truth, I am alive and well to-day, for which I am very grateful. I am more grateful, though, for the lessons learned. I am very sorry to say that once I was prejudiced against the Christian Science church because Mrs. Eddy was the Founder of it. Now I feel that I owe our revered Leader endless homage for finding the footprints of Jesus, our Way-shower, and from under the rubbish of dogma and creed discovering and blazing anew the way marked out in the full gospel.— Cripple Creek, Colo.
