ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MOTHER CHURCH

From the July 1923 issue of The Christian Science Journal

On the occasion of the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, which convened at two o'clock on Monday, June 4, an audience, assembled from many lands, filling the edifice of The Mother Church, united in giving thanks to God for innumerable blessings received through the healing ministry of the Christ as revealed by the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. There was manifest throughout the vast gathering a deep realization of the true meaning of the Annual Meeting as an occasion for spiritual exaltation and gratitude for a progressive understanding of our Leader's teachings. The reports of the officers of The Mother Church were of exceptional interest. Among the many important facts related was the information that the number of new members uniting with the church during the past year was the largest in the history of the Christian Science movement.

After singing Hymn 196, "Shepherd, show me how to go," by Mary Baker Eddy, the following selections were read by the retiring President, Albert F. Gilmore, C.S.B., of Boston:—

Bible: Psalms 133:1; Acts 4:33; Ephesians 4: 1-8, 11-13.
