It is ten years since I began to study and try to prove the truth of the teaching of Christian Science. I feel I cannot be grateful enough for the small understanding of it I have gained. It has changed my whole outlook on life; it has taken away all sense of fear and worry about the future, and given me, instead, a calm and happy assurance of the fatherhood and motherhood of God, and of His protecting care at all times and under all circumstances for all His children.
During the whole of these ten years, Christian Science has been my only remedy for any discordant condition that has appeared, whether physical or mental; and I know there is not a single problem it cannot solve when honestly applied. It has healed me of an overwhelming sense of sorrow and separation when dear ones passed away; and it has helped me to find my right place and work, in which I am very happy.
I remember my first physical healing with great gratitude, for it proved to me that Christian Science is the truth. It was in the very early days of my study. I had been suffering from acute neuralgia for some days, and the pain suddenly became so severe that in sheer desperation I turned to the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures'' by Mary Baker Eddy, for help. I tried to realize the truth of a sentence on page 14, and to my amazement I found the pain gradually ceasing; and in a few minutes it had absolutely gone. I have never been troubled with neuralgia since. In the year when influenza seemed to take such a severe form, I was healed of a bad attack in a few days, staying in bed only one day.
