DIVINE LAW

From the August 1927 issue of The Christian Science Journal

LAW which is real, invariable, unchangeable, is divine, spiritual. It can always be stated in the singular; for though it may be given many names, as the law of reflection, the law of expression, it is always the law of God, of Spirit; hence, spiritual law. As God is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, omniactive good, and as His law partakes of His nature, the law of reflection or expression is always present, always active, always expressive of His power and loving presence. As God is infinite. His law is an infinite law; hence it excludes the possibility of the existence of any other law. The realization of this fact shuts out from human consciousness the claim to presence or power of any so-called material law.

Jesus utilized God's law in healing the sick, raising the dead, feeding the multitudes, walking on the water— in all of his miracles. so called. These were the result of the application of his perfect understanding of spiritual law to human problems, the solving of which, by this divine method, made him the Way-shower to humanity in the handling of similar discordant conditions.

Christian Scientists, guided by the spiritual meaning of the Bible, especially the recorded teachings of Jesus as elucidated in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, are daily demonstrating the availability of this same spiritual law in exact proportion to their understanding of the allness of God as infinite Life, Truth, Love, Mind. Spirit, Soul, Principle, and their consecration to the utilization of His law in all their activities—home, social, and business.
