[Written for the Journal]

TO—DAY

From the August 1927 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To-day the truth is shining bright
Dispelling clouds of error.
To-day my eye has caught its gleam;
Banished are night and terror.
To-day my heart is singing praise
To God, our Father-Mother,
Who is our strength and present help,
Our Life—there is no other!

To-day an angel touched my heart,
A brother's need revealing.
To-day an angel whispered low,
Sweet words, my sorrow healing.
To-day within a baby's eyes
I saw a vision holy,
That led me to the Master's feet,
Repentant, childlike, lowly.

To-day I will more patient be,
Expressing kindness only.
To-day with meekness I will walk
The road, though it be lonely.
To-day I pray my life may show
Of Love a pure reflection,
And every act. however small,
Come nearer to perfection.
