ANGELS OF LIGHT

From the March 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

God's thoughts to man! How comforting to know
He sends His angels to us, swift of wing,
To liberate us from our dreams of woe,
To loose our bonds, and cause our hearts to sing!

How oft, dispelling darkness, doth He send
To us some bright-winged messenger of peace!
Then all is light! And joyfully we wend
Our upward way; and mortal fear doth cease.

Our God is Light. Have we not found it so?
In Him there is no darkness. Oh, how true!
For in His presence only Truth we know;
His Word refreshes us, as heavenly dew.

The beauty of His holiness is ours
As we reflect His qualities divine;
No threatening cloud can 'fright us as it lowers,
For through its gloom the light of Truth doth shine.
