CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS realize that the facts of real being, the Science of being, have throughout eternity existed and will throughout eternity exist unchanged. They know that all through human history there have been scattered cases when men through earnest spiritual effort have intuitively touched this Science and seen it operate. These happenings were sporadic and not capable of intentional repetition because spiritual power and law were so little understood. But with Christ Jesus there was a very different sense of things. He so consciously utilized divine Mind that he was able constantly and clearly to repeat this utilization and to instruct his followers in the same ability.
We often quote Paul's admonition, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." Merely quoting this, however, is likely to mean little if anything. Actually obeying it will mean to mankind unlimited service, boundless dominion, peace, harmony, heaven!
Christian Scientists know well that the one Mind is God, and that it was this perfect Mind which Christ Jesus habitually reflected and which made him always good, loving, wise, and unlimited in ability. How can we realize the same results that Jesus did through the understanding of infinite Mind? Only by utilizing it as he did. The function of Mind is to know; the product of Mind is ideas. These ideas must so fill human consciousness as to supplant all false beliefs.
