My two-year-old child had been ailing for three weeks, and often had a high temperature. The doctor who was called in could find nothing but swollen glands. Then, unbidden, he brought one of his colleagues with him; and he, too, could find nothing. Since the child did not improve, it was proposed that it be taken to a hospital for observation. Injections were also to be made in the throat glands. But at this point I did what my heart told me to do and asked for Christian Science treatment. Absent treatment was given. My child got well again. The doctor was speechless when he saw how quickly the swelling of the glands disappeared. That was the first healing. In the meantime, however, I had not been feeling well, and the same symptoms were manifested on me. I also had work taken up for me in Christian Science, and in my case, too, something wonderful happened. The glands opened of their own accord and the impurities were naturally discharged.
The year before, my husband suffered from the same disease and was obliged to be absent from his work for nearly three months. He suffered severely until he had to undergo an operation, whereas I was healed in two days through two Christian Science treatments. I am inexpressibly grateful.— Hamburg, Germany.
